About London’s Sorry! Comedy Festival
Why we are Sorry!
Ah, London, Ontario—the city that was once dubbed “The Saddest City in Canada.” Well, we’re here to tell you that nothing could be further from the truth! Just ask Brantford! 🙂 (these are jokes, remember…)
Introducing London’s Sorry! Comedy Festival, where we take that so-called “saddest city” label and turn it on its head, with a smile and a wink.
You see, here in London, we’ve mastered the art of self-deprecation—much like our friends over at Joe Kool’s, the local pub that’s made a name for itself by keeping expectations low and delivering a great time. We’re borrowing a page from their playbook, promising a festival that’s “Sorry” in name but anything but mediocre in delivery.
Why “Sorry!” you ask? Well, first, it’s our cheeky nod to that ridiculous article. We know our worth, but we also know how to laugh at ourselves. Secondly, it’s a playful homage to the Canadian way—where we say “Sorry” even when we’re killing it on stage. We’re apologizing in advance for the gut-busting laughter you’re about to experience, and for the fact that you might just have the time of your life in the city some idiot writer thought was “sad.”
From November 13-16, come join us for four days of comedy gold. Expect improv, stand-up, roast battles, workshops, and the SlideSlam! Canadian finals, where we prove that humour isn’t just alive in London—it’s thriving!
So, come on down, and remember: Keep your expectations low, because we’re ready to exceed them. Sorry! But not sorry….

Show Rating System
WHY HAVE RATINGS?
It’s very important that our guests feel comfortable and confident in selecting which show they’d like to see. Therefore, we are introducing this easy-to-follow ratings system to enhance everyone’s enjoyment! Each show will be assigned a symbol which indicates the estimated level of foul language and sexual references.
Volunteers
London’s Sorry! Comedy Festival is looking for committed, reliable, friendly individuals to volunteer throughout the week of November 11-17, 2024.
Check out the variety of positions available!
1. AUDIENCE AMBASSADOR:
You will be the first point of contact many of the festival patrons will have! Welcome guests to their venues, help them find their seats, tear tickets and answer any questions they may have. This position is an accessible position and accommodations can easily be made.
Contact Martha McDougall by EMAIL for more information to ensure you have the best festival experience possible.
2. EVENT SUPPORT:
Here you will be on site at one (or more) of our events. This position may require handling money and completing the appropriate administrative tasks required to open and close a box office. Training is provided.
For more information, contact Martha by EMAIL.
3. TRAVEL SUPPORT:
Great for folks who are outgoing and enjoy engaging the public. Promote the festival to talent, VIP’s, guests and liaise with the transportation crew to ensure efficient transportation of festival guests to and from their hotels to venues. These shifts require that volunteers are available during the day, and are comfortable working independently.
For more information, contact Martha by EMAIL.
